Yes. Bill Gates, the co-founder of Microsoft and one of the most successful businessmen in the world, is just like the rest of us.
He admittedly watches his favorite movies and television shows on Netflix and beyond, especially these days as he spends more time inside due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The billionaire even shared his personal watch list on a recent blog. So, if you want to ‘stem the tide of anxiety’ the same way Gates does, you may want to add the following on your own to-watch list.
Favorite Movie
For those looking for some escapist, the 64-year-old suggests the film ‘Spy Game’, which he also identified as one of his favorite movies.
It’s a 2001 action flick starring A-lister Brad Pitt and Robert Redford. Although he has personally seen the movie a dozen times, as he admitted in the blog post, he observed how not many have actually seen it.
An Apt Warning
If you’ve been tuning in to the news, then you already know that Gates has been quite vocal about the ongoing COVID-19 crisis. He’s actually been warning society about the possibility of such a disease outbreak happening for years now.
On that note, he included the Netflix documentary series ‘Pandemic: How to Prevent an Outbreak’ in his watch list. The show even featured an influenza vaccine company that Gates and his wife Melinda’s foundation funded.
Guilty Pleasures
Going to something more lighthearted, the billionaire recommended three drama series that he and his wife are currently caught up in. They are Netflix’s ‘Ozark’, NBC’s ‘This is Us’, and ABC’s ‘A Million Little Things’.
‘Ozark’ stars Jason Bateman and Laura Linney in the lead roles as a couple who moved their family to the titular Ozarks after a money-laundering scheme went wrong.
Meanwhile, ‘This is Us’ is a family drama that chronicles the life of the Pearson family spanning different time frames. It stars Mandy Moore and Milo Ventimiglia to name a few of the ensemble cast.
Then there’s ‘A Million Little Things’ another drama but one that focuses on a group of friends and how they deal with the death of one of their pals.
Planning to Watch
Lastly, Gates shared one series on his to-watch list. This is the BBC series ‘I, Claudius’.
The show chronicles the reigns of Roman emperors, Caligula, Augustus, Tiberius, and, of course, Claudius, who narrates the story from his own view point.
The philanthropist admittedly became interested in the series after reading a raving review of it from The Economist.
