Since its beginning, the COVID-19 pandemic has left a lasting mark on everyone. Be it on an individual, societal, national, or global level, every single aspect of life has been equally impacted by the virus outbreak. With its inception in the Wuhan province of China, the virus spread uncontrollably across the world. However, the United States saw one of the worst hits of the COVID-19 pandemic – from a staggering amount of mass deaths to economic fallout, Americans got the blunt of it all.

Similarly, Silicon Valley – a beautiful region in California – was no exception either. “It was just like any other region in the US and in the world. The COVID-19 pandemic was equally dreadful and devastating for us here in Silicon Valley,” the CEO of Tiger Global was quoted as saying. It is pertinent to note here that prior to the coronavirus pandemic, Tiger Global was a startup. However, today it is a multi-million dollar setup that offers a multifarious set of services across Silicon Valley.

The Good Side of the COVID-19 in Silicon Valley

If we count on the disastrous nature of the pandemic, we can never come to an end. The list of the Covid’s negative impacts goes on and on. However, despite all that, COVID had some positive aspects as well. In the words of the CEO of Tiger Global, the pandemic made “people more empathetic, loving, compassionate and humanely in Silicon Valley. Honestly, we have seen the true faces of people here. Something that we have not seen before.”

Similarly, the CEO asserts that companies across Silicon Valley knew the importance of their employees. “One of the greatest positive aspects of the COVID-19 pandemic – we have seen in Silicon Valley – is that em[ployers became more compassionate towards their employees. It is something that was rare to be seen prior to the pandemic.

The “RIP to Good Times” Phrase is No More Relatable in Silicon Valley

As the COVID-19 hit Silicon Valley, they had this notorious phrase “RIP to Good Times.” Obviously, this was to denote the mass destruction done by the virus. However, as we look at the post-pandemic Silicon Valley, it turns out that the phrase is no more relatable. Instead, the new phrase in town is “Welcome Good Times.”

Instantly after the pandemic, businesses across Silicon Valley have nourished. Startups have turned into multi-billion dollar enterprises. Similarly, the workforce across Silicon Valley is more energetic, enthusiastic, and compassionate than ever before. Above all, NFT, cryptocurrency, and blockchains are also gaining popularity throughout Silicon Valley.

Nevertheless, Silicon Valley is also preparing for the ringing bell of financial recession. With its high financial literacy rate, Silicon Valley is expected to counter the anticipated financial better than anyone in the US.
