Michael Jordan is experiencing a new wave of media attention thanks to the recent release of the ‘The Last Dance’ on Netflix.
This has already helped one of his game-worn Air Jordan sneakers break records when it was auctioned off for a whopping $560,000. And if His Airness is lucky enough, the news coverage might finally attract a buyer for his Chicago mansion, which has been in the market for eight years already.
Here’s your inside look at Jordan’s 56,000 square feet former residence.
Discounted Mansion
Tucked away in the suburban city of Highland Park, the mansion is currently for sale for $14.855 million. According to its Zillow listing, the abode comes with nine bedrooms and 10 bathrooms.
It was built in 1995 and was first put on the market for $29 million. The price was eventually slashed down to $21 million as Jordan didn’t find a new resident for his home.
And as you probably can tell already, the former basketball player made a few more price cuts over the years.
Jordan doesn’t seem to mind though. After all, a couple of millions is nothing compared to his current $2.1 billion.
Luxurious Residence
It’s still interesting though why the former Chicago Bulls shooting guard found it hard to offload his home given its luxurious features and legendary background.
Among the many features to be found on the estate are a tennis court and a stunning circular infinity pool. Also outside is a putting green decorated with flags bearing the iconic Air Jordan logo.
Of course, the residence’s interior is just as impressive as its outdoor grounds.
Customized by Jordan himself, the home features such noteworthy touches like the set of doors that reportedly came from the original Playboy mansion in Chicago.
Current Abode
After living in the mansion for 19 years, Jordan has moved on to reside at The Bear’s Club in Florida, a 369 private acre golf facility. He made the move in with his second wife Yvette Prieto and their twin daughters in 2013.
It’s speculated that his current home was also built custom by him considering the $7.6 million he spent in addition to what the millions he paid for a three-acre piece at the facility.
His Florida estate is much smaller than his Chicago mansion measuring at 28,000 square feet. Jordan didn’t skimp out on outfitting his new home though and built it with a basketball court, a media room, and 11 bedrooms.
