After about three years of dating, reality star Scott Disick and model Sofia Richie have broken up. And similar to their actual relationship, their split has also become a constant topic of celebrity news sites.
Although losing a significant other is undoubtedly an awful experience, it does help that both of them can recover from the heartbreak with the help of their respective multimillion-dollar fortunes.
Modeling Gigs
As you may already know, Richie is the daughter of singer-songwriter Lionel Richie. That said, the 21-year-old grew up rich with her dad being worth $200 million.
Still, it seems like the young model is determined to earn her keep. She began working when he was just 14 years old with a stint in Teen Vogue.
By 16, she’s already signed with Select Model Management and making a name for herself in the world of fashion. Richie has appeared in the pages of numerous magazines from Nylon to Elle Girl.
Sources estimate her personal net worth at $8 million.
She has also walked the runway at New York Fashion Week. These days though, she’s divided her focus between modeling and being an influencer.
Scott the Businessman
Likewise, her ex-boyfriend, who’s 16 years her senior, was also born into a wealthy family. That’s not where their similarities end, though.
Disick also modeled when he was younger, appearing in the covers of the Heartland series of novels. He’s shifted careers since then, though.
Aside from being an on and off presence in the reality show ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians’ with his former longtime partner Kourtney Kardashian, Disick has tried his hand at various business ventures.
The 37-year-old owns a clothing line called Talentless and has opened a restaurant in New York City called RYU.
In a callback to his family’s real estate development business, Disick now stars in the show ‘Flip It Like Disick’, where he works on renovating mansions.
His net worth is estimated to be around $40 million.
Controversial Couple
Disick and Richie’s relationship was the topic of controversy from the get-go. Critics primarily focused on the huge age gap between them and the fact that Richie was only 19 years old when they began dating.
Their breakup comes weeks after Disick reportedly went into rehab to work on his past traumas. His lawyer, Marty Singer, said that the reality star was still dealing with the deaths of his mother and father years ago.
