Making a film is without a doubt a group effort. However, it’s often the case that it’s the lead actors and the director who get the most credit for a movie’s success.
But did you know that there are other powerful people behind your favorite blockbuster movies?
Here are the producers responsible for the highest-grossing films of all time.
Frank Marshall
The movies Frank Marshall produced have grossed $9.4 billion in worldwide ticket sales. That’s because you’re probably more familiar with his Amblin Entertainment business partner Steven Spielberg.
The most successful film he has backed to date is ‘Jurassic World’, which grossed $1.65 billion.
Neal H. Moritz
If you’re a fan of the thriller and action genres, then you’ve most likely already watched a couple of Neal H. Moritz-produced films. Some of his most popular productions are ‘I Am Legend’, the Fast & Furious franchise, and ‘I Know What You Did Last Summer’.
Altogether, the Sony and Paramount Pictures executive’s films have grossed $9.5 billion.
Jerry Bruckheimer
Now, Jerry Bruckheimer might be the most well-known producer on this list. Not surprising since his eponymous production company Jerry Bruckheimer Films’ logo appears at the beginning of the films he produces.
His best ventures include the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, the Bad Boys film series, ‘Top Gun’, and ‘Armageddon’. Bruckheimer productions have recorded total earnings of $10.6 billion.
David Heyman
You Potterheads out there are already familiar with English producer David Heyman’s works. His most lucrative venture is the production of the Harry Potter movies.
His most profitable box office hit is the final installment of the fantasy series, which brought in $1.34 billion. In total, all of his movies have grossed $11.5 billion.
Kathleen Kennedy
The Star Wars film franchise has been ruling the worldwide box office time and again for decades. So, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that one of its producers has seen $12.9 billion in ticket sales throughout the years.
Kennedy’s biggest hit to date is ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’. That might change in the near future though as the Lucasfilm president continues to work on the next big thing.
Kevin Feige
Saying the Marvel superhero films are popular is an understatement. Earning a whopping $22.6 billion in the worldwide box office, the comic adaptation movies are a cultural phenomenon.
This success is largely thanks to Kevin Feige, the president of Marvel Studios. His largest box office day came with ‘Avengers: Endgame’, which grossed almost $2.8 billion.
